Man, the fellows at Absolute Poker never cease to amaze, huh? Along with the cheating scandals, they’re suing an online poker news website for giving factual information about AJ Green, the guy that stole a bunch of money from their players.
You would think that if Absolute Poker wanted to keep its player base, it wouldn’t be trying so hard to cover up the actions of the guy who cheated. Yeah, he got away with a lot of money. Taking legal action against a site for reporting how he spent that money, makes you look guilty guys.
It’s really quite upsetting to see what’s going on with Absolute lately. They were, and still are (and hopefully this continues) to be a leading site in the online poker industry. But its hard to put your faith in a site that continues to cover up its past indiscretions. And it’s not even so much that they’re trying to sweep it under the rug, but essentially the way they’re going about it. It, basically, went like this:
Gambling911(the news site): AJ Green stole a bunch of money from Absolute, and he’s spending all on cars.
Absolute: Not uh!!!
911: Yes huh! We have sources that say he was bragging about the millions of dollars of your players’ money that he has in the bank!
Absolute: Take that back! It’s not true!
911: Yes it is!
Absolute: Take it back or we’ll tell the government on you!
911: Tell them! We dare you!
It seems ridiculous, but if you read the story, that’s not a far stretch from the truth. At any rate, Absolute is treading on thin ice as it is, and they should be doing everything in their power to gain the approval of the online poker community, but instead they have continued to dig a bigger hole for themselves. Perhaps this is the reason that along with its sister site, UltimateBet, a new poker network is being created, straying from the site’s original names.
