Do women at the have an intimidating advantage at the poker tables? Of course they do. In recent years, the number of women at the World Series of Poker has certainly increased. Last year, Jennifer Tilly competed against some of the most vicious competitors and won a decent amount of cash. Did she intimidate players with her charm and good looks? First we must look at where the majority of players come from. In years past the WSOP was second home to the greats such as Sammy Farhah and Doyle Brunson, masters of the table from a dying age. That is to say, before the introduction of online poker rooms. These were career poker players. Now the vast majority of people in the main are from places like Bodog, and PokerStars. These are folks that spend a lot of time switching between windows of Poker Tournaments and webpages dedicated to Tila Tequilla and have probably not had much social interaction with women. They're ertainly not equiped to handle the stress of hours and hours at the WSOP while dealing with the gravitational pull of Tilly's breasts. The men are not the only victims who are forced to deal against attractive television personalities, I suppose. They'll see our Jennifer Tilly and raise us a Ben Affleck. Then again, seeing his last couple movies, that might not be such a smart play. In either senario there has most likely been a problem with cards having to be burned because they're sticking in the saliva accumulated on the velt. In all cases, it is certainly fun to watch some players sweat. After all there are instances of some players whose last experience with a woman was when he teamed up with a female Tauren on World Of Warcraft.
Men often play differently with women than they would a man, which in itself gives the female poker community an advantage. Men are more likely to call a woman's raise or scare her into folding. Doesn't work. Makes ya lose guys. Now stop staring and play. In the end I believe women are a wonderful and welcome addition to the WSOP. At least it could be a deterent to many online players who choose to go all-in on every hand. Nobody want's to make a woman cry.
