Tokwiro Pays off Cheating Victims

It would seem after the cheating scandals that arose with Tokwiro Enterprise’s Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker, that when the company purchased these poker rooms, they were unaware of what had happened to the players involved..and so they’ve received a $15 million settlement to pay of the users from the previous owners..
And as the online poker rooms are to merge into one poker network, things are finally looking up for the websites. I have to say that I’m actually grateful for the cheating scandals. I think it opened the doors to investigations in many online poker rooms that would not have happened otherwise. In order to learn from your mistakes, you must make them.. and I think if it were not for the cunning of the players involved, there would probably be a lot more ill gotten gains in the internet poker business.
With everything that happened, and with those responsible having worked for the websites, I think it has forced many poker rooms to start cracking down on its employees, on the ability to view players hole cards, and the ability to play for cash altogether on the sites for which they work. Were it not for what happened, there would probably be less regulations with the industry, and you and I would be more susceptible to cheaters.
Does the scandal leave a poor taste in the mouths of online poker players? I don’t think so. If you gamble, you gamble, and there’s a chance that someone is going to cheat you, no matter where you play. Despite the initial uproar and paranoia, Ultimate Bet and Absolute are still two of the leading websites in online poker, and the industry is growing more than ever.
If you are an existing member of either of these poker rooms, I think you can rest assured now that the company is doing everything in its power to provide a safe environment to play in – and what’s more, everyone involved got their money back, money that some of them would have lost anyway. Good deal.
