Multi-Accounting

Some people just can’t get enough online poker, and I have to hand it to these “multi-accounters,” who can be found, before they’re banned of course, playing many tables at a time under more than one account.
Of course this is very frowned upon in the industry, as some players use this method to cheat. But I have to say, I myself have never had any success multi-tabling in online poker, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how anyone does it. I suppose it might be easier in tables where users take forever to act, but it just seems to me that it’s taking your concentration from your game.
The reason I have success at all when playing online poker is that I devote all of my time and effort to the game. I couldn’t try toggling two different tables, and this is something you wouldn’t see in a live poker game. Isn’t multi-tabling enough for some people?
Anyway, many poker rooms have been cracking down on multi-accounters, but the problem is that a lot of the people that are caught doing it are reputable users and poker advocates. These guys that are getting caught, such as Full Tilt pro Brian Townsend have much respect in the industry, and you’d think they’d know better at this point.
At this stage in the game, when we are trying so hard to get online poker legalized, the last thing you want to do is make it look dishonest. When you go around cheating people out of their money, it causes fear and panic and retribution, and if it keeps up, these sites are going to earn a poor reputation…the industry is going to earn a poor reputation.
And then you get some dumbasses who brag about their ill gotten gains to their friends, like JJProdigy. If you’re not skilled enough to win a tourney without cheating, then you shouldn’t be playing the game at all. Stop screwing it up for the rest of us, guys.
