The Element of Chance, Sadly, Has Returned

Unfortunately, because of the UIGEA, and the harsher crackdown on internet gambling, the online poker community has lost another venue with which to play. Duplicate Poker is closing its doors.
This is a particularly sad loss for us, as Duplicate Poker provided one of the legal means to play poker online in the industry, in that it removed the element of chance from the game. The format was set up so that two tables would play the same hands at the same time. I wonder if perhaps this was a format that was not well received by the community simply for that reason.
I mean, when you are playing poker, sure there is a lot of skill involved…much more so than chance, but I’d like to think that when I gamble, I gamble. I don’t want to play the same hands as everyone else, and I certainly don’t want to give my strategy away. With software like sharkscope, where you can track any online poker room game after it’s been played, this could be easily discovered.
For current Duplicate customers, if you want your money back, you must access the website and enter your username and password to request a withdrawaw. It is unfortunate that the site was not able to transfer its customers to another website, as many poker rooms do when they close. It seems this came as a surprise to everyone.
