That Guy!

One of the many reasons that I prefer playing poker online as opposed to live poker is that I can avoid some of the asses that feel the need to rub their winning in your face and the temper tantrums that follow when they land on the tilt.

There is nothing worse than getting a bad beat in poker, and I don’t need some jerk insulting me when he gets the luck of the draw. Online poker allows you to be social, but to avoid the hassle of live players. If a person acts out and leaves a bad taste in your mouth, you can simply block them and continue your game in peace. There are a lot of internet tough guys out there, but they’re easy enough to avoid.

This year at the World Series of Poker, Scotty Nguyen made a total ass of himself, drinking beer after beer and insulting the other players. It’s hard enough to concentrate when you’ve got cameras on you, and there’s so much money at stake, let alone when you’ve got some buttface insulting you.

And what’s worse is that none of the staff stopped this from going on. There are strict rules in the WSOP that cover the areas of insulting people or putting on theatrics. It seems to me that Nguyen should have been disqualified from the minute he started in with the insults, and his winnings should be taken away since no one decided to enforce the rules of the tournament.

The other players were cheated out of their winnings because some guy decided to be a jerk. And then the guy actually goes on to say that he was wrongly portrayed as being a belligerent drunk, and apologizes to his fans for their disappointment in him, but not for unfairly beating the other opponents. Why he wasn’t thrown out is beyond me, and why he was allowed to walk away with all of that money makes my brains want to explode.
