Transitioning from Live Play to Online Poker

Several people have said that when they've switched to online poker from live poker, their losses have significantly increased. It is vital in understanding that these are two different games and online poker requires one to be more attentive to detail.

Because online players don't have the tells that live players have, they tend to be much more aggressive. You will find yourself having to take some risks. From my experiences, the biggest adjustment you will make is the pre-flop betting. There's a lot more of that in online poker. The best thing you can do for yourself is to read up on various strategies, and don't be afraid to ask others for help.

ALSO! Make sure you choose the right poker room for yourself. You can refer to my previous blogs or the links that I have provided to for reviews.

Always remember, and I don't mean to sound too dramatic here, that when you enter an online poker room, you have stepped onto a psychological battlefield. Gambling requires a great deal of emotional stability. So, and trust me on this, if you are having self esteem issues on certain days, do not attempt to play at those times. You will use.

Lastly, be sober. To some this is probably a given. Nonetheless I reiterate, do not drink and poker. This is not the same game you play with your buddies to get away from your wife.
