Gamble Responsibly: That Way, So Can We.

I can’t stand compulsive gamblers. It’s not that I have no empathy toward their condition, it’s just that they keep screwing it up for online poker legislation. And like with any other mental disorder, and that’s what problem gambling is, those who suffer from it can never take responsibility for their own actions.
A bunch of search engines were sued recently by these two assholes that claimed they lost $100,000 because they were so tempted by the advertisements of internet gambling. They lost, of course, because these websites don’t advertise for online gaming anymore thanks to the federal government.
This doesn’t change the fact that I’m pissed off. Let me just say this, I get regular spam e-mails asking me if I would like to purchase some pill or pump or what have you to enlarge my penis. While I don’t have a penis, this doesn’t apply to me, and so I don’t buy what it is they are selling. If I did have a penis, I still probably wouldn’t be interested in the product.
To use a better example, when I get offers for breast augmentations and things like this, I have no desire to purchase any such product. I suppose that if I had the money, and WANTED my breasts to be bigger, I might.
So I can only conclude that if a gambling advertisement prompts you to gamble, that you first searched for gambling, and that secondly you wanted to gamble to begin with.
Gambling addictions are classified in the mental health world as impulse control disorders. I know this as I used to work in the mental health field. That being said, what is an impulse control disorder? This thing that I’m always going on about?
Impulse control disorders are characterized by an inability to resist the impulse to perform an action that is harmful to one's self or others. This is a relatively new class of personality disorders, and the most common of these are intermittent explosive disorder, kleptomania, pyromania, compulsive gambling disorder, and trichotillomania.
So as you can see, this disease can be contributed to several vices, not just gambling. SO thbbt.
