CAP Raid!

Luckily for online poker players, we don’t have to fear the recent slew of police raids on poker games. The latest involves the Casino Affiliate Programs, who had in the spirit of their marketing conference, decided to host a freeroll tournament. It all went to hell from there, when despite the company having been assured of the tournament’s legality, all of their equipment was seized.
This is not an unusual occurance for the CAP to host a live tournament, and they’ve said that they would never host an event without ensuring its legal.
The CAP is hosting some upcoming events next year, including the CAP Euro Amsterdam in April. This is the biggest week of the year, as it is the Queen’s birthday. The conference will be held at the Hotel Amsterdam Rai, and will update members of the current issues, latest tips and tricks, and will host a number of exhibitions. The event will include a meet, eat and greet with peers, as well as the Affiliate Series of Poker…the biggest yet, they claim. Finally, a joint networking party is scheduled for that day, to show some affiliates how to enter alternative markets.
Prior to that, the CAP will host the Euro London 2009, it’s most popular event held in Barcelona. The event will include three days of networking parties, as well as a full schedule of internationally acclaimed conference speakers. And, as always, the company will throw the Affiliate Series of Poker tournament. Hopefully, this one won’t be raided.
