I hate using wild cards in poker. There's nothing worse than getting all anxious for a game, and then having one of your drunken asshole friends ruin it for you by exclaiming, "Follow the eight!"
I mostly play hold 'em. Yes I'm one of those people. It's become the most widely played poker game online and off because of the strategy and luck involved. There's a reason people don't throw wild cards into Texas Hold 'Em and take all of the fun out of it. Some poker players refer to it the Wild Card Paradox. Poker hands are ranked by the frequency in which they are drawn. When one introduces a wild card into the game, it then becomes impossible to rank the cards. Say I have two pair and then draw a wild card, making it a full house. The wild card makes the lower hands less frequent, which to me, should technically change to ranking of the hands. Aside from the probability stuff, it takes the fun out of the chase and it makes bluffing harder.
I really disdain wild cards.
